Camp Day 1

Firstly Happy birthday to Asef the big 30 hope you had a nice day and i'm betting Mrs Haddad made you a delicious birthday cake!

So today up at 9am for 930 breakfast then free time till 11am. Meeting with Suzanne about the running of camp and what to expect etc. Lunch at 1230, more free time. We went for more of an explore and found the basketball courts and tennis courts, meet the 3 maintenance boys that are working here - seem nice and mentioned that because this Sunday is the 4th of July then on Saturday the 3rd everyone parties then another meeting at 230 then a quick tour of Kingston which has 2 big malls and then to Plymouth the town where the pilgrims landed on the Mayflower. Its really nice a little town by the seashore has lots of boats, jetty, big mariner, seafood restaurants and what appears to be a pretty happening bar right by the water - Let the planning begin!!!!

Seeing as though the kids don’t arrive till Sunday after 1pm we have tried asking Suzanne if we have everything done and ready for the kids if we can have Saturday night off? At this stage it’s just the afternoon but she said she will speak to the boys and see what’s happening in the town Saturday night so fingers crossed!!!
Back home and time for tea chicken breast, salad, beans and potatoes. Then off to wall*mart to do some shopping, everyone got loads of stuff - toiletries and whatever, could have spent ages looking around but then back to camp and time for bed. The showers here are pretty horrendous, tiny with dodgy shower curtains and the loo's are all so low to the ground with doors that end just at your knees and come up to your neck! All pretty funny but part of the experience! (wonder if I’ll have the same opinion in 6 wks time?)

We have all decided that we'll start running/walking in the morning to try and keep fit which is a good idea so we start tomorrow. Don’t have Wi-Fi here but twice a week we can go across to the school (also owed by the nuns) and use the internet so the blogs won’t be coming as thick and fast as they have been. But I’ll try and get them done, we only have 15 kids coming this week and only 9 or so staying overnight but the days sound very full and possibly exhausting!
Well glad to finally be here and get things moving, should be interesting to see what happens when the kids arrive!

Cherrio for now
